Independent benchmarking and certification of your workplace culture
“Most claims to a cultural health standard made by organisations are simply assertions about aspirational cultures, not real cultures. This is what The Culture Doctor® calls ‘Shiny Brass Plaque (SBP) Syndrome’.”
The Culture Doctor’s Certification process provides a quantifiable evaluation of the health of your workplace culture. The likelihood of staff giving ‘discretionary effort’ is also identified.
Your own team rates the organisation’s culture
Certification is based on the team rating the organisation against its unique, (qualitative) behavioural standards. Certification at the trade-marked Cultural Health standards of either Silver (average), or Gold (good) or Platinum (great/ excellent/ perfection) is issued by The Culture Doctor ® for a six-month period.
A clear benchmark
This process identifies areas that are going well, and others that need to be worked on. The standard provides a benchmark for the company to improve on.
Silver Standard in workplace culture:
Staff rate the 25 behavioural standards an average of above 2.5 on a five-point scale where 5 is perfection. Staff members are unlikely to be giving discretionary effort.
Entry level Cultural Health Benchmark – urgent action required to turn the culture around.
Gold Standard in workplace culture:
Staff rate the 25 behavioural standards an average of above 3.5 on a five-point scale where 5 is perfection. This is a level in which some discretionary effort is likely to occur. The organisation has gone from ‘Fair’ to Good.
Areas that have improved are identified, along with areas that still need work.
Platinum Standard in Corporate Culture:
Staff rate the 25 behavioural standards an average of above 4.5 on a five-point scale where 5 is perfection. Discretionary Effort from most staff abounds at this Cultural Health benchmark.
The organisation has gone from ‘Good to Great’ (Jim Collins)
The ‘Standards’ visibly and tangibly benchmark our progress – it’s powerful.
