What has youth sub-culture and corporate culture got in common?

TCD Blog Courier Headline compressed

This Brisbane Sunday Mail headline on 30 August 2009  is every parent’s worst nightmare ... and every school leader’s nightmare too! School is meant to be safe, right?

At the heart of any culture is a belief system driven by values. Beliefs drive behaviour.

If you want to change the behaviours, you have to change the beliefs. That’s the bad news because beliefs are formed over time, shaped in the environment of prevailing values. Values are deeply seated, stoutly defended and resistant to change.

The good news is that change is possible. However, poorly understood change processes result in failure - it’s almost a proverb!

The Culture Doctor ® understands sustainable change processes and has tools to identify the elements of an organisation’s culture - good or bad.

Corporate nightmares might not be as dramatic as the worst elements of the youth sub-culture but they can be destructive to high aspirations if left unchecked and without remedy.

If you are worried that your organisation’s productivity is suffering from a misaligned culture we are available to join with you to administer powerful remedies. Contact us for a consultation.
